Class of 1999 BABY!
Anyway, clearly I went to my H.S. Reunion. It was a couple weekends ago. I made the 10 hour trek to Orange County on a Friday, did the reunion (and Disneyland) on Saturday, drove back Sunday. Was it worth it? I.............dunno. I loved High School. We had a pretty dang fun class of people and the reunion had potential. However, it was a hundred bucks and because of that (in my opinion), only about 50 people showed. At least the Sweeny's were there and Erin provided some drunk commentary on the micropohone...it really wouldn't have been the same without the "it's sweater vest, not a cardigan" chant. Turns out it would have been loads more fun for me if a lot more people came! But, it was fun to hang with my pals Carrie, Lindsey, Sam, and Ryan. I really missed my Cameron and Sari. And since some of my best pals are a year older or younger, I think the ultimate joy would be a Show Choir reunion that would span the years of '97-'00...eh eh?! I will post a few pictures from the event, but first I will copy and paste Carrie's blog post about the reunion here because she makes me happy:
"HS reunion re-cap
I didn't do the HS reunion justice. I was just extremely embarrassed at how shy and awkward and scared I felt! I need to thank Shelley, for taking me w/ her & paying for half of it & for the fun time that we had. Anytime with Shelley is a fun time! :) We found the Alibaba motel...which is pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity. We talked with strange boys in another car that wanted to know where we were headed- they didn't speak english so Shelley cleared it up "ESCUELAAAAA" that moment right there made the night, for me. :) She pulled a gang sign and everything. It was great. We looked through my old yearbooks to see if Melissa Lawless signed any of them. Nope. Not that we found at least. I might check more thoroughly another day.
So Shell, for the 20- I'll pay for 1/2 of your ticket & if you are married, great- go make out with your husband, whatever. :) If you're not, we can go cause a rucus together & eat some yogurtland. :) Love you SHMOOP!"
For the first time in all my days of living, I pulled in to Anaheim on a Friday night to find the Disneyland traffic OUT OF CONTROL! What was going on? Disneyland was at full capacity! What? On a seemingly normal Friday evening in October. There was no explanation. My response is...recession???? I don't think so. It's a myth. Everyone is fine. I wanted to check out the craziness so I parked anyway...in a lot that I honestly didn't know existed. We had to ride a random hired Anaheim city bus to the front entrance (which was like 3 miles away).

Quasimodo, a Locksmith, Watch Batteries & Muscle Relaxant...
I should share because really friends, my life is not all vacations and happy time.
On top of a very full week of continuous 9 year old questions (not outdated questions, just ones coming from 9 year olds) and crazy behavior, work tasks, planning & grading outside of work hours...always...Uhm, I also had an allergic reaction incident on Monday morning which caused my left eyelid to blow up on one side to the size of, oh say, a marble, and in turn resembling Quasimodo for about 6 hours.
Yesterday I went on a quest to finally get new batteries in 3 of my Disney watches that have been sitting around doing me no good for some months. Target sounded like a logical choice. Nope. They won't do it. So back to my car I went two minutes later only to find that I'd locked my keys in there. Good one. I calmly and with tears in my eyes (because I'm on my period too) pulled out the AAA card in my walet to remedy the situation. While waiting the hour for very nice dude to show up and jimmy my lock open, I decided to walk somewhere else to get these dang batteries changed. After a couple miles, some blisters from my not-so-comfy work sandals, and rejection from the lady at Kohl's, my goal was still unreached. (Later I finally achieved success at Walmart and now my watches are ticking. Oh, and I also went to Home Depot and got two spare car keys made...)
Last night I was at the gym late trying to accomplish some sort of exercise, but was mostly into the Angels vs. Red Sox game. While on the stationary bike, I reacted physically and apparently awkwardly to an outfielders missed catch- which caused my back to go into some sort of spasmed fit. I thought surely it would ware off, but once I was home I couldn't move and had to resort to the supposed illegal (maybe just hard to get) muscle relaxant pill (Thank you Dr.Ali). That knocked me out for 10 hours, and luckily substitute Aunt Pam came to the rescue and taught my class for an hour and half this morning.
Oh and tonight when I was drving home from a class in Salt Lake, I missed my exit...my exit...to my very own home, where I get off everyday.
I'm on a roll.
OH MY GOSH! I had to come back and edit this because I actually forgot to include my late night time spent at the police station on Monday reporting my "hit and run" back bumper damage! Yep a big dent and a large flake of paint missing...happened sometime in the middle of the night Sunday in my condo complex parking lot. Probably the dudes that own the huge trucks with diesel engines that are turning on and off and running for prolonged amounts of time all night long...we haven't been sleeping well.

Never Forget

"...as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called His people, and are willing to bear one another's burdens, that they may be light; yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in..."

OH Fine! I'll Come Back!
Because the thought of giving great details about all my adventures makes me tired, I will accomplish a little something with some quick phrases.
Arizona-
Drove by myself; listened to Harry Potter 7 on CD
Stopped in Vegas to see Natalie & fam
Ate In n Out
Saw Rachel & fam
Ate In n Out
Saw Mandy & Nate
Met Baby Graydon
Ate delicious shaved ice at Bahama Bucks
Lost at Settler's of Catan every night
Michael Jackson died
Georgia
Spent quality time with Dave; together we mourned the loss of EFY, being our first summer of retirement
Decided that things in Georgia are way too far apart and because of all the trees everywhere, it always feels like you're on the same road
Rocked out with Davey Archuleta
Went to a kangaroo conservation...field? There was an albino kangaroo
Perused through a replica of an alpine village and had excellent funnel cake
Experience the Coke Factory
I love Dave, Dave is my best pal.
Hill Cumorah Pageant- Palmyra, NY
Enjoyed awesome professional directors, costumers, special effects, stage crew, and flawless organization
Landed the part of sensual dancer in the wickedness of Jerusalem before it was destroyed long long ago
Met an amazing life long friend, Jeminee, and had the lovely privilege of being her personal assistant/handicap helper after she totally munched her ankle the first dance rehearsal and was on crutches the whole rest of the time!
Got to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the added joy of the Book of Mormon through performance and teaching
Hung out with some funny people
Had a crush on an 18 year old
Got a huge range of reactions to my age and my current state of life, which wasn't super fun
Was stalked by a bearded man
Had fun with Lisa and her family
Came to the conclusion that the Pageant experience is not exactly a replacement for EFY and I probably wouldn't do it again unless I do someday with my future family
Got a cold
Florida
Worked 4 shifts as a chipmunk in the extreme heat and loved it
Signed in and toured around Lisa's mom and siblings in the extreme heat and had a blast
Saw some friends
Spent lots of time with Jamie, who I love
We went to Vero Beach and stayed in a Disney resort for a couple nights and it was blissful actually...fantastic!
At said resort, Jamie got super slammed by a wave...twice in a row... and was covered with tiny shells and rocky sand in every crevise of her body. A bit traumatic, but hilarious later. We were scrubbing them out of her scalp for some hours.
Cold turned to ear infection

Oregon
Road tripped with the parents through Boise up to Medford to be at my bro's house
Had lots of diaherea on the way
Unwillingly listened to a lot of Beach Boys and Brian Wilson
Had loads of fun playing tennis with the fam everyday
Celebrated 3 birthdays- one 40th :P
Went waterskiing :)
Rode bikes
Cold and ear infection turned into crazy tonsil infection and conjuctivitis (puss coming out the red irritated eyes)
