My little heart is sad to be back home from the excitement of New York City once again. My three day trip there this past week marks the 9th time I've been there and about the 30th show I've seen on Broadway. Do I love it or what? I do I do! But this experience was like no other! Alli Mauzey, my good buddy from H.S. who I shared a stage with many times and have enjoyed much of the big city with on various trips, is staring as Glinda in Wicked! Now this comes at no surprise because she's always been wonderfully talented and in a league all of her own. I've seen her in loads of performances (some on Broadway) previous to now...BUT, what a role to land!!! She is the most brilliant, perfect Glinda there could ever be! After watching Kristen Chenoweth originally, I never dreamed I would have this opportunity to love another Glinda even more! I can't even express how proud I am of her and how surreal and blissful it was to watch her give a flawless performance TWICE (yes, I got to go two times :) -once from the front row! I immediately began to cry within the first few seconds of the show when she came down from the sky in her bubble :) I thought the ladies next to me would die from shock when Alli was waving, blowing kisses, and talking to me during the curtain call...it was quite humorous actually. She's working really hard- her voice sounds amazing as ever, and she's absolutely hilarious! I did go backstage and her dressing room is bigger than my bedroom. Craziness!
The poofy gorgeous dress pictured below weighs a good 40 lbs...

Beautiful Girl!

Love you Alli!

I'm so jealous that you got to see her! I'm sure she is the best Glinda EVER! And look how gorgeous she looks! How fun!
Wow, that's great! How awesome you got to see her twice! I'm so jealous, I've been wanting too see that forever! I was wondering when Allie would hit the big time. Good for her!
SHELLY!!! I went to NY about a month ago and saw her in Wicked and thought she was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! My whole family LOVED her!!
Love-love-loved your pictures you emailed. What a blast! That's so amazing that your friend is staring as Glinda. I mean, I would have been amazed if she was just one of the munchins (if there are any... I've never seen it) but Glinda! I'm just in shock and love that you got to go back stage with her. How fun! I'm taking a girl's trip with my mom and sister to NYC in October and we plan to see Wicked. Do you think she'll still be Glinda? I sure hope so. That would be super neat.
Also, they totally opened a Grimaldi's right around the corner from my house and luckily the line was no where as long. And what is the Peanut Butter place you mentioned in your pictures? I've never heard of it but apparently I need to know all about it. I love reading about all of your trips and seeing all of your fun pictures!
Wow! That sounds so amazing! I wish you bootlegged it so I can see it too. :) thank you SO MUCH for blogging this so I can live through you & your adventures!
OH YEAH!!! Kitty - that's still so crazy (yet logical at the same time) that you WON the lottery for the show. I think your winning streak has taken a very good turn.
